Fire Training & Workplace Emergency Response

People First Fire’s training programs are a complete package encompassing all aspects of an emergency procedures program, from initial implementation to ongoing training and monitoring.

We will tailor a program that includes training intervals and topics to suit you and the occupants of your facility.

WARDENS - EMERGENCY CONTROL ORGANISATION (ECO)

The Emergency Control Organisation (ECO) consists of the different Warden types and positions. The ECO is trained to investigate and coordinate a safe response to whatever emergency situation may arise within your facility.

People First Fire provide a tailored training program at agreed intervals to achieve a competent and confident ECO.

CHIEF WARDEN TRAINING

The Chief Warden is trained to oversee the coordination of the ECO, and ensure a safe response to whatever emergency situation may arise within your facility.

People First Fire will tailor a program to suit the competency Level of your Chief Warden.

These courses cover the practical use of EWIS Panels and FIP’s where installed.

EWIS & EWS TRAINING (OCCUPANT WARNING SYSTEM)

This training is specific to the warning system installed in the facility. It targets the nominated Chief & Deputy Chief Wardens.

Participants are shown the location and the functions of all of the different buttons, switches and/or keys on the Panel.

We deliver General Awareness, Basic, and Advanced Panel Operation Training Sessions. Any of these sessions can be integrated into an existing training program, or delivered as a standalone session.

This training gives the Chief and Deputy Chief Wardens the opportunity to practice their skills and knowledge before an incident happens.

GENERAL STAFF & OCCUPANT EMERGENCY RESPONSE TRAINING

This is an overall awareness session on how staff should react in accordance with established facility specific procedure guidelines, to the occupant warning system where installed, and Warden instructions.

EMERGENCY PLANNING COMMITTEE (EPC) TRAINING

We will schedule and coordinate Emergency Planning Committee Meetings. By request, a People First Fire Consultant can chair the meeting, or just be present at the meetings to provide specialist advice, input and support on the emergency planning and management of your facility.

HOT LIVE FIRE & EXTINGUISHER TRAINING

Gas props can be used to train employees with hot live fires.

However we do offer more realistic training methods using different fuels and combustible materials. This allows participants to recognise the real stages of fire development , and the varying effects of different extinguishing mediums, whilst maintaining safety in controlled conditions.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE EXERCISES

Emergency response exercises are developed and are consistent with the identified emergencies in the site Emergency Plan.

These exercises are also used to determine the effectiveness of the emergency procedure guidelines, ECO actions and the occupants response for the facility.

People First Fire not only include and supervise these in your existing training program, but can also provide consultants to monitor and supervise additional exercises where required.

EVACUATION EXERCISES

This is an emergency response exercise in which the exercise simulates an emergency that requires an evacuation.

Evacuation exercises are included in the tailored training program for your facility. These exercises are carried out to appropriately test the facilities Emergency Control Organisation, Emergency Procedure Guidelines and responses of the occupants and visitors.

People First Fire not only include and supervise these in your existing training program, but can also provide consultants to monitor and supervise additional exercises where required.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM (ERT) TRAINING

People First Fire can audit your facility to determine if an ERT is necessary for your facility. Where a specialist ERT has been deemed necessary, training specific to the risks and possible emergencies for your facility can be addressed and delivered.

Our training team will improve participant skills, competency and the safety of your Facility.
