2. Information We Access
When you use Flare Gmail AI, the extension may access:
- Gmail email content
- Subject lines
- Sender names and email addresses
- Email body content
- Conversation history within a single Gmail thread
This access is read-only and is used solely to generate reply suggestions.

The accessed Gmail content is used only for the following purposes:
- To understand the context of an email conversation
- To generate suggested email replies using artificial intelligence
- To display those suggestions directly inside Gmail
We do not modify, send, delete, or store your emails in Gmail.

To generate reply suggestions:
- Relevant email thread content is securely sent to our backend service hosted on Microsoft Azure
- The backend uses AI models to generate reply suggestions
- Responses are returned immediately to the extension
Email content is processed transiently and is not permanently stored.
5. Data Storage
- We do not store Gmail email content in a database
- We do not build user profiles
- We do not retain conversation history after generating a reply
Any temporary processing data exists only in memory for the duration of the request.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your data with third parties.
Data is only transmitted:
- Between your browser and our secure Azure backend
- For the sole purpose of generating reply suggestions
7. Permissions Justification
Flare Gmail AI requests the following Chrome permissions:
- Gmail read access – to read email threads and generate replies
- Identity – to authenticate the user with Gmail securely
- Scripting – to insert reply suggestions into Gmail’s interface
These permissions are strictly limited to the extension’s core functionality.
8. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including:
- Secure HTTPS communication
- Restricted backend access
- No persistent storage of email content
9. User Control
- You can disable or remove the extension at any time
- You can revoke Gmail permissions from your Google Account settings
- The extension does not operate when Gmail is not open

Flare Gmail AI is not intended for use by children under the age of 13.
